01 — About
More Than a
Student

Before returning to study, I built a career across three demanding sectors — mining & resources, defence, and emergency services. I've worked at both the operational coalface and in management roles, which means I understand how decisions made on paper play out in the field, and how to lead teams when the stakes are real.

That background shapes the way I approach engineering. I don't just want to design systems that work in a lab — I want to build things that hold up under pressure, meet safety standards, and are maintainable by the people who actually use them.

Now in my second year of a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in Brisbane, I'm actively seeking vacation work or internships where I can start contributing. I bring maturity, reliability, and a genuine understanding of how engineering fits into real-world operations.

Two-Tone Switchable Siren

Designed and built a switchable-rate two-tone audible siren on a custom single-layer PCB (65×50mm). Built around the 74HC14N Schmitt trigger inverter, the circuit generates two tones (~1.44 kHz and ~2.17 kHz) alternated by a low-frequency oscillator with selectable HI/LO urgency modes. Includes diode steering, buffer stages, and alternating LED visual indicators. Validated through LTspice simulation and oscilloscope measurement prior to PCB fabrication in KiCad.

Arduino Uno DHT22 LCD 16x2 Temp / Humidity Personal

Environmental Monitor

Built a temperature and humidity display using an Arduino Uno and DHT22 sensor. First hands-on embedded project — learned I2C, basic C programming, and serial debugging in the process.

V SOURCE RECTIFIER DC LOAD Coursework

AC-DC Power Supply Analysis

2nd year circuits assignment analysing a full-wave bridge rectifier with capacitor filter. Compared simulated vs. measured ripple voltage and calculated regulation. Presented findings in a full technical report.
